    • If you need a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation for your child - If your child's school is unable to provide the level of support or specialized services needed

    • If you want to obtain a second opinion or more in-depth assessment beyond what the school can provide

    • Consultation and training for parents on supporting their child's needs

    • Collaboration with the school team to ensure a coordinated approach

  • During the initial consultation, we will:

    • Gather detailed information about your child's history, strengths, and challenges

    • Explain our assessment and intervention process, including timelines and costs

    • Discuss your goals and priorities for seeking private practice services

    • Outline our professional qualifications and approach to working with families

    • Answer any questions you may have about our services

  • It is not recommended to sit in on your child's testing due to the standardization of the assessments. We have a comfortable waiting area where you can stay during the appointment.

  • Our evaluations and reports do not guarantee services at school through gifted placement, an IEP, or a 504 Accommodation Plan. The school districts often have additional criteria they must include in addition to our reports. We are happy to collaborate with you and your child's school to ensure our recommendations are considered.

  • Screening and testing appointments usually range from 1 to 4 hours depending on the type of testing. We offer to split up the appointments for our longer sessions. A parent feedback is always provided at the last session.

  • Private practice psychologists often offer more flexible scheduling, personalized attention, and individualized assessment sessions compared to school-based psychologists who may have limited availability and resources. Additionally, they can provide continuity of care beyond the academic year.

  • Our costs vary based on what each child needs. You can reach out to us at (407) 900-4696 or info@barnapsych.com for the specific prices and payment plans. Typically, the evaluation costs range from $350 to $2000, depending on the type of testing.

To secure an appointment, we ask for a 20% non-refundable deposit. The full payment is due when we provide the service. We accept different payment methods, including cash, check, FSA, HSA, credit cards, debit, Zelle, Venmo, and Paypal.

We are out of network with insurance companies. Upon request, Barna Psychology will provide an itemized receipt of services (Superbill) for possible insurance reimbursement. It's important for clients to take the initiative to contact their insurance company and inquire about potential benefits and reimbursement.
